Slay the Aerial Sling Weekend w/ Holly Ann Jarvis

We are thrilled that the Aerial Sling Queen herself Holly Ann Jarvis is coming to SEATTLE the weekend of December 12-13, 2020. Workshops with Holly include:

Saturday 12/12/20 – WORKSHOPS WITH HOLLY

10am-Noon Sling Flow Theory Sling Flow Theory (all levels)

This is an intensive workshop that will transform how you think about fluidity and flow on the aerial sling. Through a series of hands-on prompts and exercises, we will tap into foundational movement concepts that will evolve your ability to:

  • Design choreography that feels good in your body
  • Build innovative and seamless transitions
  • Improve your overall connectedness to your apparatus Holly will guide you through her tried and true methods for ooey-gooey movement via a practical sling sequence towards the end of the workshop.

Prerequisites: At least six classes with aerial sling (Foundations level or higher). Cost: $80

1pm-3pm Hitched on Sling (Int/Adv Level)

An intermediate-advanced workshop designed around thigh hitch theory, explorations & sequences. Discover entrances, movement patterns & transitions that will get you hitched on sling and fall in love with this fun and abundantly useful fabric concept.

Prerequisites: At least 3 months of experience in Sling I or Fabric I or higher AND must be able to climb & aerial invert repetitively without assistance and have good body awareness/spatial orientation. Cost: $80


10am-Noon Low Flowing Sling (Int Level)

An intermediate choreography workshop that celebrates the beauty of low flowing movement. Using the bottom half of the apparatus, students will learn 1-3 original sling choreo sequences.

Prerequisites: At least 3 months of regular attendance in Sling I or higher classes. This course is not appropriate for Aerial Foundations students. Cost: $80.

1pm-3pm Master the Spin (All Levels)

In this workshop, learn to spin on the sling–and spin fast! Topics included in this workshop: spinning mounts, transitions, momentum theory (how to get momentum and keep it throughout your sequences) and last but not least–tips and preventative measures for aerial motion sickness!

Prerequisites: An interest in spinning, at least six classes with aerial sling (Foundations level or higher). Cost: $80
